DETOXIFICATION: Emptying the body of all those DEAD bugs!

I know last week's post was a bit random & short & waaaay overdue... 
BUT I'll make it up to you! 
I promise! 
TODAY, I'm posting about the importance of 
DETOXING!

If you've got a chronic infection like Lyme Disease &/or one of the nasty co-infections like Borrelia, Babesia, or Bartonella, 
(Please don't hesitate to click here to see a thorough website on all of these co-infections. GRRRRR.)
detoxing is SO SO SO SO SO SOOOOOO important! 
If you are treating these infections without proper detoxification, 
then all the bacteria you're killing off will just be 
TRAPPED IN YOUR BODY!!!!
And that, my friends, is NOT GOOD. 
The bugs you kill have to leave your body in order for you to make any progress.
What I'm kindly asking you to do is learn to LOVE to sweat!!!!

Detoxing through the skin is a FAST EASY way to get rid of those dead bugs!  
{The downside to detoxing, you ask??} 
We'll get to that later. :P 
Let's get excited about detoxing first. 
Here are some of my favorite detoxification methods! :D

  • Epsom salt baths
  • Lots & lots & LOTS of lemon water
  • A diet FREE of gluten, dairy, sugar, & processed foods
  • Gentle exercise
  • Sauna (regular or infrared; infrared is actually preferred) 
  • Dry skin brushing
  • Activated charcoal 
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Benadryl 
  • Burbur
  • Parsley (*hint hint* CHICKEN SOUP!)
  • Quercetin
  • Coffee enema (I've yet to try this but I'd REALLY like to) 
  • Turmeric 
  • LAUGHTER
  • A GOOD cry

Don't let this lengthy list frighten you. You don't have to run off to the store & buy anything on this list that you don't already have & DETOX like crazy. I haven't even had the guts to try all of these methods yet! 
*DETOX YOUR BODY SAFELY AND SLOWLY, PLEASE!!!*
Why???? Well...
Remember when I said there is a downside to detoxing?
I was talking about a Herx reaction. 
This is your body's way of communicating with you after you've gone & killed a whole bunch of bacteria. 
While you might be thinking you've done something wonderful after killing off a lot of bugs, you have BUT you now have to watch out for a Herx reaction. 
You can experience a huge spike in inflammation & a toxin overload. 
It's NOT fun!! :(

SO, now that you know a few special ways to detox & how to do it properly, 
what's on your schedule for the weekend? ;) 
A lovely salt bath?
A dash of turmeric sprinkled over tonight's dinner?
A calming walk or a session of gentle yoga?
A few dozen glasses of lemon water?
In other words, have a detox party this weekend!! :D
And be sure to keep your weekend free of any big events or obligations if you can, in case you experience a wicked Herx reaction after detoxing. 
{Perhaps grab a good movie & a comfy blanket if the Herx hits you hard}
